Delete your account

YapRoll · Effective 1 October 2026

You can delete your YapRoll account, and everything in it, from inside the app. If you no longer have the app, you can ask us by email instead. Either way the same thing happens: your account is closed at once and permanently deleted 30 days later.

In the app

  1. Open YapRoll and go to Settings.
  2. Under Account, tap Delete account.
  3. Confirm. You are signed out.

From that moment nobody can be paired with you or send you messages, and your photos and online status are hidden. The people you were talking to keep your conversation with them, read-only, with a note that you deleted your account, until it is permanently deleted.

You have 30 days to change your mind. Sign in again with the same account within 30 days and choose Reactivate, and everything comes back as it was. After 30 days the deletion is permanent and nothing can be recovered.

Without the app

If you have uninstalled YapRoll, lost your phone, or cannot sign in, you can either:

  • reinstall the app, sign in with the same account, and delete it from Settings as above; or
  • email [email protected] from the email address of your account, with the subject Delete my account. We start the same 30-day deletion and reply to confirm. The email has to come from the address on the account, so that nobody else can delete it for you.

What is deleted

When the 30 days are up, all of this is permanently deleted:

  • your profile: display name, date of birth, sex, what you are looking for, region, languages, and every photo with its review scores;
  • your search preferences;
  • every conversation you were in, with all its messages, voice notes, GIFs and reactions, for both people;
  • your presence record, push tokens and app language;
  • your block list, the reports you filed and the reports filed about you with their evidence, and any moderation actions and notices on your account;
  • the record of your ad-free subscription, if you had one;
  • your sign-in record: the email address, name, profile picture link and account ID that Google or Apple gave us. Your Google or Apple account itself is not affected.

Photo and voice-note files are removed from storage within an hour of the account being deleted. Backups that still hold the data are overwritten in the normal course of things, and are never used to bring back a deleted account.

What may be kept

  • If your account was banned, a one-way fingerprint of your sign-in account, so that the ban cannot be undone by signing up again. It cannot be turned back into your email address, and it is deleted if the ban is lifted.
  • Anything the law requires us to keep, such as a child-safety report made to the authorities, for as long as the law requires and for nothing else.
  • What Google Play or Apple keep about a subscription purchase is theirs. Deleting your YapRoll account does not delete your purchase history in the store.

Deleting some things without deleting the account

  • A conversation: long-press it in your chats, or open its menu, and choose Delete chat. It is removed for you, and you can tick the box to remove it for the other person too.
  • A message: long-press it and choose whether to delete it for yourself or for both of you.
  • A photo: remove it in the profile editor. The file is gone within the hour.
  • Your name, preferences, region or languages: change them in the profile editor at any time.

Your subscription

Deleting your account does not cancel an ad-free subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Google Play or the App Store, not by us, so cancel yours in the store, before or after deleting your account, or it will keep renewing. On Android, use Google Play's subscriptions page; on iPhone, open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
