Terms of Service

YapRoll · Effective 1 October 2026

What changed in this version. We rewrote these terms from scratch. They now name the company behind YapRoll and cover the App Store as well as Google Play. The rules have moved to a page of their own, the Community Guidelines. Every moderation decision now comes with its reason and can be appealed, and New York law applies.

These terms are an agreement between you and Bros Dolz LLC, a New York limited liability company at 418 Broadway STE N, Albany, NY 12207, United States (“YapRoll”, “we”, “us”). They cover the YapRoll app on Android and iPhone and the website at yaproll.app.

Two other documents are part of this agreement: the Community Guidelines, which set out what is and is not allowed, and the Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with your data. By creating an account, or by using the app or the website, you accept all three. If you do not agree, do not use YapRoll.

1. Who can use YapRoll

  • You must be 18 or over, wherever you live. You give your date of birth when you create your account, and an account cannot be created with a date of birth under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to somebody under 18, we remove it.
  • One account per person. Your account is for you alone. You may not create more than one, share one, or use somebody else's.
  • Banned means banned. If your account has been banned, you may not use YapRoll again. A new account made to get around a ban (ban evasion) is banned as soon as we find it, together with every account linked to it.
  • You sign in with your own Google account (or, on iPhone, your Apple account). You are responsible for what is done with your YapRoll account, so keep that sign-in to yourself.
  • You may not use YapRoll if you are barred from receiving services under the laws of the United States or the country you live in, including if you are in a country under a US government embargo or on a US government list of restricted parties.

2. What YapRoll is

YapRoll pairs you with another person who is online and matches your search preferences, and turns that pairing into a conversation of text, voice notes, GIFs and reactions. Your preferences work both ways: the age range, sexes, languages and regions you choose also decide who can be paired with you.

We do not check anybody's identity. The people you meet are strangers, and you should treat them that way. What they tell you about themselves may not be true. If you decide to meet somebody in person, that is your decision and your responsibility; the safety tips in the Community Guidelines are worth reading first.

3. The main rules

The full rules, with examples, are in the Community Guidelines. These are the ones that matter most. They apply to everything you send, post or show on YapRoll: messages, voice notes, GIFs, reactions, your display name, your profile and your photos.

  • Zero tolerance for anything that sexualises or endangers a child. We remove it, ban every account involved without warning or appeal, and report it to the relevant authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. See our Child Safety Standards.
  • No inappropriate content: no nudity or sexual content, no violence or gore, no hate speech, and nothing that promotes self-harm, suicide or eating disorders.
  • No harassment. No threats, intimidation, bullying, or carrying on after somebody has asked you to stop.
  • No spam, scams or selling. Do not ask people for money, sell anything (including sexual services), or advertise.
  • Be yourself. Do not impersonate anybody or lie about your age.
  • Keep conversations private. Do not share a conversation, or anything from it, outside YapRoll without the other person's consent. See section 7.
  • Nothing illegal, where you are or where the other person is.

4. Moderation

Report and block. Every conversation has a Report button and a Block button. A person you block cannot reach you again and is not told that you blocked them. When you report a conversation, a copy of its last 20 text messages and GIFs is attached to the report, frozen at that moment, so a moderator can see what happened even if the messages are deleted afterwards.

We review every report within 24 hours, and a person makes the decision every time.

Photos are checked before anybody sees them. Every profile photo goes through an automated check first. Photos that are clearly fine go up, and photos that clearly break the rules are removed. If the check is not sure either way, the photo waits for a moderator. Photos that keep getting removed lead to the steps in the Community Guidelines, ending with a review of the account by a moderator.

What we can do. Depending on how serious a breach is, we may remove content, warn you, suspend your account for a period, or ban it. A suspended or banned account cannot search for new people or send messages, and other people cannot send messages to it; it can still read its existing conversations. We may act on reports, on the automated photo check, or on our own findings.

You will always be told why. Every action we take on your account appears in the app under Settings › Account notices, with the rule it was taken under and, for a suspension, when it ends.

5. Appeals

If you think we got a decision wrong, you can appeal it.

  • How: email [email protected] from the email address of your YapRoll account, say which decision you are appealing, and tell us why you think it was wrong.
  • When: within 30 days of the decision appearing in your Account notices. We cannot consider an appeal sent after that.
  • Answer: within 14 days of receiving your appeal. A moderator who looks at it afresh will either confirm the decision or reverse it. If we reverse it, the restriction is lifted and you get a notice in the app saying so.
  • This also covers decisions made by the automated photo check: you can always ask for a person to look again.
  • No appeal for child sexual abuse. Bans for sexual content involving a minor, or for sexualising, grooming or exploiting a minor, are final.

6. Your content

What you send and post on YapRoll stays yours. To run the service, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store it, copy it, deliver it to the person you sent it to, show your profile to the people you are paired with, check your photos before they are shown, and keep the safety records described in the Privacy Policy. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies we must keep for safety or legal reasons.

You are responsible for what you send. Only share things you have the right to share. We may remove anything that breaks these terms or the Community Guidelines, and we are not obliged to keep any of your content for you.

7. What happens to your conversations outside the app

Conversations on YapRoll are between you and the other person. You may not share a conversation, or any part of it (messages, voice notes, photos or screenshots), outside YapRoll without the other person's consent. We also ask you not to take screenshots or recordings of conversations at all.

But we cannot stop the other person from doing so. YapRoll and Bros Dolz LLC are not responsible for what anybody does with a conversation, or with anything you sent, once it leaves the app. Keep that in mind before you send something you would not want seen elsewhere. If somebody shares your conversation without your consent, report them.

8. GIFs and other services inside YapRoll

The GIFs in YapRoll come from KLIPY, a separate company. We do not make or control them, and we cannot promise that every GIF is accurate or suitable. When you send a GIF you are responsible for it, exactly as if it were your own message, and the Community Guidelines apply to it.

Ads on the free tier are served by Google, and payments are handled by Google Play or the App Store. Each of these services has its own terms, and we are not responsible for them.

9. Ads and the ad-free subscription

  • The free tier shows ads. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before ads are personalised. You can change your choice at any time under Settings › Ad preferences.
  • The ad-free subscription removes ads everywhere in the app. It is sold through Google Play on Android and the App Store on iPhone, as a monthly or an annual plan. The price, in your currency, is shown in the store before you buy. There is no free trial.
  • It renews automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, until you cancel. Payment is taken by Google Play or Apple when you confirm the purchase and at each renewal. To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before the current one ends.
  • Cancel in the store. Cancellation, payment and billing are handled by Google Play or Apple under their own terms. Settings › Manage subscription takes you to the right page. Deleting the app, or your YapRoll account, does not cancel the subscription.
  • No refunds from us. We do not give refunds, including for partly used periods. Any refund is a matter for Google Play or Apple under their refund policies, and you ask them for it directly.
  • If your account is suspended or banned, your subscription is not cancelled for you and is not refunded. Cancel it in the store if you no longer want it.
  • A subscription does not exempt you from these terms or from moderation. It does exempt your account from deletion for inactivity (see section 10).

10. Deleting your account

  • You can delete your account at any time under Settings › Delete account. You are signed out, nobody can be paired with you or send you messages, and your photos and online status are hidden straight away. The people you were talking to keep the conversation, read-only, with a note that you deleted your account.
  • You then have 30 days to change your mind: sign back in and choose Reactivate. After 30 days, your account and everything in it is permanently deleted, including your sign-in record.
  • Inactive accounts: an account on the free tier that has not opened the app for 90 days is permanently deleted.
  • Quiet conversations: a conversation in which neither person has sent a message for 30 days is deleted for both.
  • Some safety records are kept after deletion, as the Privacy Policy explains. In particular, if your account was banned, we keep a one-way fingerprint of your sign-in account so that a ban cannot be undone by deleting the account and signing up again.

11. Using the app properly

We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the YapRoll app for your own private, non-commercial use, on devices you own or control, under these terms. You may not:

  • copy, modify, decompile or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows it;
  • use bots, scripts or any automated means to use YapRoll, collect information from it, or create accounts;
  • try to get into accounts, data or systems that are not yours, or test, probe or break our security;
  • interfere with or overload the service, or get around any limit or restriction in it (including the limit on messages to somebody who has not replied);
  • use YapRoll to build a competing product, or for any commercial purpose.

The YapRoll name, logo, app and website belong to Bros Dolz LLC. These terms do not give you any right to use them other than to use YapRoll.

12. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms, the Community Guidelines and the Privacy Policy at any time. When we do, we update the date at the top of the page and tell you in the app: the next time you open YapRoll, a notice explains that the documents have changed and links to them, and you confirm that you have seen it. The changes take effect when they are published.

If you keep using YapRoll after a change, you accept the new version. If you do not agree with a change, stop using YapRoll and delete your account.

13. Changes to the service and ending this agreement

We keep working on YapRoll, so we may add, change or remove features. We may also pause or close YapRoll altogether. If we close it, we will tell you in the app beforehand where we reasonably can.

You can end this agreement at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend or end your account if you break these terms or the Community Guidelines, if the law requires it, or if your use creates a risk for other people or for YapRoll. Sections 6 to 8 and 14 to 20 continue after the agreement ends.

14. Disclaimers

YapRoll is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises about it beyond those in these terms: we do not promise that it will always be available, free of errors or secure, that you will be paired with anybody, or that the people you are paired with are who they say they are.

We are not responsible for what other users say or do, in the app or outside it, including anything that happens if you meet somebody in person, and anything somebody does with a conversation once it leaves YapRoll.

15. Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss or damage, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill or opportunity; and
  • our total liability to you for all claims relating to YapRoll is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose and US$50.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away the rights you have under the consumer law of the country where you live.

16. Law and disputes

If you have a problem with YapRoll, please email [email protected] first; most things can be sorted out that way.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to YapRoll will be decided by the state or federal courts located in the State of New York, and you and we both agree to their jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer living outside the United States, including in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may also bring a claim in the courts of that country.

17. If you got YapRoll from the App Store

If you downloaded YapRoll from Apple's App Store, these additional terms apply, and they take priority over anything else in this agreement that conflicts with them:

  • This agreement is between you and Bros Dolz LLC only, not Apple. Bros Dolz LLC, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
  • Your licence to use the app is limited to Apple-branded products that you own or control, and to the uses permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the app may also be used by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
  • Bros Dolz LLC, not Apple, is solely responsible for maintenance and support of the app. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for it.
  • If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app (if any) to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses arising from a failure to conform to a warranty are the responsibility of Bros Dolz LLC, to the extent they are not excluded by these terms.
  • Bros Dolz LLC, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the app or your possession or use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet any legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
  • If a third party claims that the app or your possession or use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, Bros Dolz LLC, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
  • You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated by the US government as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Questions, complaints or claims about the app go to Bros Dolz LLC at the address in section 20.
  • You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the app, such as your mobile data provider's terms.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement. Once you accept it, Apple has the right, and is deemed to have accepted the right, to enforce it against you as a third-party beneficiary.

18. If you got YapRoll from Google Play

If you downloaded YapRoll from Google Play, this agreement is between you and Bros Dolz LLC only, not Google. Your purchases through Google Play are also governed by the Google Play Terms of Service.

19. General

  • Translations. These terms are available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and German. If a translation and the English version disagree, the English version applies, to the extent the law allows.
  • Whole agreement. These terms, the Community Guidelines and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about YapRoll.
  • If part of these terms is invalid, the rest still applies.
  • If we do not enforce a term straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
  • Transfer. You may not transfer your account or this agreement to anybody else. We may transfer this agreement to another company as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of YapRoll, and if we do, your rights under it are not reduced.
  • Things outside our control. We are not responsible for failures or delays caused by events we cannot reasonably control, such as outages at the services YapRoll runs on.
